
Call for Nominations – GHC Board of Directors
ELIGIBILITY
Any member in Good Standing is entitled to participate in and benefit from the activities and resources of the Association applicable to their classification of membership:
- All members in good standing have the right to stand for Office on the Board.
- All members in good standing have the right to attend and vote at the AGM.
COMPOSITION OF THE BOARD
As per GHC Bylaws, the Board shall consist of no less than seven (7) Directors and no more than fifteen (15) Directors. The term of office of the Directors shall be for a period of two (2) years. The Board Executive consists of the President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and immediate Past-President (non-voting) as outlined in the Bylaws. The powers and duties of the remaining Officers are determined by the Board following the election.

NOMINATIONS
Nominations will be accepted until midnight on, Thursday, June 12, 2025
- Candidates are required to submit a Expression of Interest Form including a Personal Statement.
- Nominations must be supported by two (2) GHC Members in Good Standing.
- Candidates must indicate their Area of Interest.
- All nominations will be reviewed by a nominations committee.
ELECTION
- If the number of eligible members seeking nomination is less than or equal to the number of vacant positions, those members will be acclaimed to the Board of Directors and no election will take place.
- If the number of eligible members seeking nomination exceeds the number of vacant positions, candidates must stand for election at the AGM.
- The Personal Statement of all nominees will be published on the GHC website for members prior to the AGM.
- Any Parent Member, Athlete Member (18 years +) and eligible Volunteer Member in good standing is entitled to vote. There is one vote allowed for a Parent Member per registered Athlete Member.
- Members will be provided a link during the AGM to select their preferred candidates for election to the GHC Board of Directors.
- Votes must be made during the AGM and not by proxy or otherwise.
- The result of the ballot will be shared at and considered as the resolution of the AGM.
