Hi GHC Families!

My name is Margaret Nemeth, and I am the owner of Primal Grounds Cafe and Primal Soup Company. I can’t wait to tell you about the great initiative we are involved in for International Women’s Week (March 8-18, 2021)!

I have the pleasure of being part of a cooperative online shopping website, called Best of Calgary Foods, with 15 of my best female buddies who are all brilliant entrepreneurs and wonderful human beings. This year, for INTERNATIONAL WOMENS WEEK, we have decided to do something special and close to our hearts! Each of us have chosen our favourite women’s non-profit association to support and fundraise for. We all know how important women supporting women is, as we have all overcome diversity and personal struggles and have come out on the other side, and we want to give back.

My choice is the Girls Hockey Calgary Association (GHC). Why, you ask?

I believe in empowering young women to succeed at whatever they enjoy doing- we are so lucky to be living in these times where women are celebrated and taught that they can be anyone they want to be. The reason I chose to honour girls’ hockey is because it teaches important life skills outside the rink…setting goals, teamwork, dealing with setbacks, perseverance, work ethic and valuable networking skills.

So, between March 8-18, 2021, simply go to Best of Calgary Foods to support our initiative in the following ways:

Proceeds from Primal Soup orders and Best of Calgary Food gift card purchases will go directly towards a bursary for a deserving female hockey player (or players!) to join the game for the in 2021-22 season. More details on how to apply for this bursary will be available when registration opens.
