STEP ONE

Respect In Sport (RIS)

Respect in Sport (RIS) for Hockey Canada Parents is a mandatory online course that must be completed in order to register for minor hockey. New registrants will receive a Hockey Canada ID after they complete the RIS course. Recertification is required every four years.

Parent Declaration & Supporting Documents

All new registrants must submit a Hockey Calgary Parent Declaration Form and supporting documents. The form requires:

  • Respect in Sport Certificate #
  • 1 Player Proof of Age document
  • 2 Proof of Residency documents

Hockey Canada Announces Changes to Age Division Names

Hockey Canada has announced it will discontinue the use of terms such as “bantam”, “midget” and “peewee” to identify minor hockey age divisions.
