In late 2022, Hockey Calgary was informed by Hockey Alberta that Hockey Canada would not be charging the $3.00 ‘Operational Fee’ for the 2022-23 season, which reduced the per player fee from $23.80 to $20.80. Preparation for the 2022-23 season was done well in advance of this communication and Member Associations used the $23.80 per player amount in determining the total player registration fees.

Hockey Calgary and its Member Associations agreed on a method to return this money to our members, and that if families did not wish to receive their $3.00/player those funds would be donated equally to charity. For more information, please find attached an Information Bulletin from Kevin Kobelka, Executive Director of Hockey Calgary and a memo from Shannon Cleary, President of Girls Hockey Calgary:

If you wish to receive your $3.00 per player refund, please complete the following:

  1. Submit GHC Hockey Canada Refund Request Form by March 3, 2023.
  2. Submit one form per player(s) for whom you are requesting the refund
  3. Collect your refund in person at the Hockey Calgary Office at Max Bell Arena on the date and time that will be communicated by Hockey Calgary. If you do not pick up the funds at the appointed date and time your refund will be donated to charity.

If you would like your refund(s) to go to charity on your behalf, no action is required.
