STICK & PUCK SKILLS WITH BRIANNE JENNER (U7, U9 & U11)
Date: Thursday, January 14, 2021
Time: 5:00-5:45 PM
Age Divisions: U7, U9 & U11
"I am really looking forward to the sessions with you. Sessions will be a combination of off-ice exercises and hockey specific skill development, largely focusing on stick handling work as well as cognitive and skill-based coordination drills. We have a great opportunity to challenge ourselves, improve our skills and have some fun as we do it! There are a few things that are important to know before our session:
Equipment needed:
- Your hockey stick (optional: your hockey gloves)
- A ball (or puck if you have an appropriate surface) for stick handling. I prefer to use a golf ball as this slides well on all surfaces.
- Backpack with books or heavy items inside
- 3 items to serve as pylons (Soup cans or pucks or water bottles, etc)
If there are any household items that you don’t have from the list, don’t stress! We will give suggestions for a good alternative. Make sure as well to have a water bottle with you throughout the entire session!
Just like any challenge we take on, we’ll get the most out of it by having good energy, a great attitude (it’s OK to laugh at yourself!), an open mind, and a willingness to take yourself out of your comfort zone! See you all soon!"
