Time: 5:00-5:45 PM
Age Divisions: U7, U9 & U11

"I am really looking forward to the sessions with you. Sessions will be a combination of off-ice exercises and hockey specific skill development, largely focusing on stick handling work as well as cognitive and skill-based coordination drills. We have a great opportunity to challenge ourselves, improve our skills and have some fun as we do it! There are a few things that are important to know before our session:

Equipment needed:

  1. Your hockey stick (optional: your hockey gloves)
  2. A ball (or puck if you have an appropriate surface) for stick handling. I prefer to use a golf ball as this slides well on all surfaces.
  3. Backpack with books or heavy items inside
  4. 3 items to serve as pylons (Soup cans or pucks or water bottles, etc)

If there are any household items that you don’t have from the list, don’t stress! We will give suggestions for a good alternative. Make sure as well to have a water bottle with you throughout the entire session!

Just like any challenge we take on, we’ll get the most out of it by having good energy, a great attitude (it’s OK to laugh at yourself!), an open mind, and a willingness to take yourself out of your comfort zone! See you all soon!"

Laura Dostaler

"As the only player to have competed in every season of the Team Alberta/Calgary Inferno franchise, Laura Dostaler holds an esteemed place in both the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL) and the Western Women’s Hockey League (WWHL) mythology. Bringing an ethereal serenity to the rink, with the number two adorning the back of her jersey, Dostaler, a portrait of consistency would become one of the most admired and likeable women in league history to wear the number. Over a progression of seasons, Dostaler’s presence translated into a position of strong leadership and dependability, best measured by the number of years spent in the franchise’s colours. Having taken to the ice in 124 CWHL regular season contests, Dostaler, a resident of Cochrane, Alberta, holds an esteemed place in Western Canadian women’s ice hockey."
